We simply asked for a court date. Explained our situation to the judge, and let her rant and rave and rant some more. My husband stood mute while she ranted and refused to become involved in her stupidity. When it was his turn to speak he just asked the judge, explaining that he really wanted to be able to spend more quality time with his children. Which is all he wanted. We have since discovered that this is pretty standard here in Michigan. Both parents are to share the transportation. It was never given to us before because we where too stupid to ask.
Funny thing about being a non-custodial parent. No one ever tells you the rules.
I would suggest you do some research in your state and see if there is any precedent for what you are asking. It is my understanding that many states have such a policy.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
